Stayed here over the new year and unfortunately we were a bit disappointed with this apartment. There was a smell of dampness which never left, the apt was cold in the evenings with only one heater in the lounge and the showers in the evening we’re warm for three only so one person got a cold shower. Found it tricky to park two cars in the private drive as the owners have their two cars parked there, so we parked on the main road. The owners live above, we met as strangers and left as strangers.

On the plus side, views are lovely. Lots of light in the lounge and the house was clean.

It’s with much surprise and regret that we have received a negative review. We take very seriously such comments as it is always our aim to provide our guests with as comfortable a stay as possible and because we take what we do very seriously we felt it absolutely nessesary to post the following reply.
So the guests arrive on the 28th of December, 2 weeks prior we had had several days of torrential rain so leaving the air and ground very damp. The apartment is 100% dry with no rising damp. Re the heating situation, I explained on their arrival that together with an electric oil filled radiator, there is available, hot and cold air conditioning which also has a dehumidifying option should they have chose to use it. They clearly chose not to. Regarding the hot water for showers, hot water storage for the whole villa is based on a 250 litre hot water storage tank. The main house shares the same supply and we have never experienced a shortage of hot water. We would like to point out here that this booking was for 2 people and after being asked within just 2 days of their arrival, we allowed at no further cost, 2 of their friends to join them, so making a party of 4. Parking – there is ample room for several cars on our private drive. It was their choice not to take advantage of this and park on the road. It is not a main road, with maybe 3/4 cars per hour passing. Re strangers, having carried out our normal meet and greet, we ask, should they have any issues or problems, just ask. Nobody asked. Of the many guests we have had staying in our apartment, we have never failed to respond possitively and immediately to a problem or issue, it’s a great pity they chose to post this negative review rather than speaking to us at the time, which we would have welcomed.
It’s our policy to make the apartment available for exclusive and private use for the guests and allow them to treat it as their home. On the couple of occasions that I knocked on their door to ask them if everything was satisfactory, I have to say that I experienced a less than friendly welcome. Commumication is a two way process so if they ‘left as strangers’ it was their own choice. As an example they emailed to ask for the WiFi code rather than knocking on our door. This gave us every indication that they preferred to be private, so we respected this.
