Costa Daurada

The Costa Daurada is the area of Catalunya to the south west of Barcelona. As you would expect the coastal strip is a well developed tourist haven, however just inland is the range limestone mountains called the Sierra de Prades. For years this has been a reasonably well known climbing area with cliffs like La Riba and Siurana. More recently the vast potential of the area has been developed but never yet documented. This includes such wonderful crags as El Falco with it 45m stamina routes, or the stunning buttresses of Montsant. The wealth of single and two pitch climbing is equalled by other areas in Spain but the concentration of quality routes is arguably higher than anywhere else.
