There are lots of options available in the immediate surrounds of El Chorro that vary from small cottage-style terraces to huge villas complete with pools and luxury accommodation. There is plenty of accommodation within walking distance of the crags, and the bars at the refugio and station, for those without a car. The surrounding villages and towns also have many places of all shapes and sizes to rent and will be of interest to those looking for a broader selection of shops, eating and cafe/bar options such as those in the bustling town of Alora. The cost of the accommodation is on the best side of reasonable and varies from around €50 to €140 per person, per week.

La Calera - Teba

La Calera is a beautifully renovated finca providing 3 individual self catering apartments.
The house sits on its own, offering spectacular views and is a perfect place to unwind.
We have a lovely swimming pool and plentiful sun terraces with beds and parasols. The house is however only 1/2 km from the centre of the village where you will find several bars and shops.

We are in the historic village of Teba, situated in the Guadalhorce Valley, only 15 mins from the Ardales Natural Park and 25mins from El Chorro.

Teba is also very centrally located between the towns of Antequera and Ronda as well as the cities of Granada, Seville and Cordoba. Therefore it is an ideal base for those wanting to combine rock-climbing with touring Andalucia.

All our apartments are equipped to a high standard and have a shower room, fitted kitchen with hob, microwave and fridge, satellite TV. WIFI access, use of washing machine.

Casita Bolero

Casita Bolero Casita Bolero – self catering eco-friendly cottage for 2/3 people.
Hill top location, 10 mins from el chorro village & crags. Available for self catering rental throughout the year, the casita is built away from the house and on a higher level to really benefit from the beautiful surrounding views.
Run on solar & wind power, the open plan, studio style accommodation has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The lounge area has a single sofa bed, coffee tables, bookshelves and CD player. A wood burning stove links the lounge to the kitchen/dining area which includes fridge and gas cooker with 3 rings, grill and oven.
The sleeping area houses twin beds, chest of drawers, wardrobe and full length mirror. A separate fully tiled shower room with WC and wash basin completes the internal accommodation.
The covered terraced area is south facing and makes an ideal dining, BBQ or relaxing space. Coals and BBQ equipment are provided.
Bed linen, hand and bath towels are all included.
A welcome pack of basic needs + one or two extras is provided for you on arrival.
There is ample car parking space on the private track to the casita.
Full use of Casa Bolero’s 8mx4m swimming pool is open to residents of the casita during the long hot season. The pool area is terraced with sun beds and an outdoor shower.
Mountain bike hire and guiding is also available - we have a great knowledge of local trails, some of which we built ourselves, and most start from the house

La Garganta Rural Tourist Resort is located outside El Chorro train station, in one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Málaga.

La Garganta is only 500 metres from the world class climbing in the El Chorro gorge.

Finca Rocabella

Finca Rocabella consists of ten beautifully situated independent cottages on the lower slopes of the Sierra Huma mountain (1019m). This unique position offers magnificent views of the Guadalhore Valley.

La Almona Chica

La Almona Chica forms part of a working farm, in fact the cottages, built around 1860, used to house the farm and railway workers. The cottages are a 5 minute walk from El Chorro railway station on the road to Valle de Abdalajiz; a 10 minute walk to the entrance to the gorge and 5 minutes to Las Encantadas and the Nature Park that takes you to the Escalera Arabe.

All four cottages are basically equipped and share the pool.

Casa Anita sleeps 2/3 (twin beds) - €43/night.

Finca Los Llanos

Finca Los Llanos is 3 km from Álora which has a good range of bars and places to eat, 10 minutes from El Chorro, and 40 minutes from Málaga Airport; a great location for climbers, explorers, and lazy bones wanting a rest with a good book by the pool in warm Andalucian sunshine.

Accommodation includes two en-suite rooms in the farmhouse and self-catering accommodation for up to 6 people in Casa Los Olivos. Groups of up to 10 people are welcomed with the choice of self catering or bed and breakfast.

Finca La Campana

Finca La Campana is in the El Chorro Natural Park and is the ideal basecamp for all your outdoor activities. With a good location, it is within walking distance of the parking areas for the Gorge and the village bars and also very close to the upper Frontales crags. Many of the climbing areas can be reached on foot from our cottages.

Our accommodation consists of 5 cottages that range from a 2 person studio to a cottage that sleeps up to 8 people.
All of our cottages are well equipped and have a terrace and access to the swimming pool.
We also have a bunkhouse, a large communal area that can sleep up to 14 people, there are two private rooms for couples, a good kitchen area, showers and toilets and an outside table. There is camping available that can use the facilities of our bunk house.

Prices range from 12 euros for dormitory accommodation, 42 euros for the studio cottage up to 96 euros for our cottage that sleeps up to 8 people (these prices are all per night)

Our friendly team can guide you if required on climbing, caving, kayaking and mountain biking adventures.

Refuges

There is a campsite near the village which has good facilities with hot water all day, really friendly staff in the bar, a shop five minutes walk away and the possibility to walk to all the crags. There is also a barbeque and plenty of wood for fires. Toilets/shower - very clean. Telephone and bar.
Approach - From El Chorro station, head down the hill towards the dam and the refugio. From here take the road towards the Gorge. The camping is on your right after about 150m and is well signed. NOTE: Their sign includes a pictograph of an eagle which makes the 'm' in camping. Train to campsite - 8 mins.

Camping

The El Chorro campsite is very close to the climbing and the centre of El Chorro but is not a particularly cheap option with prices of about €10 per person, per night. There are also some small chalets on the campsite that are reasonably priced if the other accommodation locally is full.

There are several beautiful campsites up on the shores of the lakes just above El Chorro but these are only open from Easter until the end of September.
Important - Wild camping in the National Park of El Chorro is banned and campfires are also forbidden.
