Mallorca
Access
Access is an extremely sensitive issue on Mallorca. The steep tufas of Ca'n Torrat, the boulders at Boquer and the brilliant Sa Jonquera have all been lost due a variety of problems. Often it is uncooperative land owners but frequently it is due to climbers lack of respect for local water supplies and their impact on paths. Worryingly there are other crags contained within this guidebook that could so easily go the same way if climbers are not careful with car parking, litter and following approach paths to the crags. Please use all the described approaches and avoid antagonising local residents and landowners.
Alaró
![[To pa ti (7a+) at Alaro on Mallorca, 8 kb]](/images/t/614.jpg) The land owners do not permit climbing and actively patrol and remove climbers on the Paret de sa Porta crags directly below the castle itself. In the more remote sectors, problems are less likely to occur. The best advice is to keep a low profile, use only the described approaches and leave if asked.
Sa Gubia
![[Pasteles de Isabelle (7b) at Sa Gubia, 7 kb]](/images/t/622.jpg) Since the publication of the new book, the landowners with the land that has the football pitch passed on the approach, have erected a new fence which blocks access via the old open apth. A new path is being formed driectly up the river bed and then breaking out right up to Sector Silicona further on.
