Mallorca

Accommodation

The most popular option for accommodation in Mallorca is to take advantage of the villas and apartments designed for the busy summer tourist trade. Climbers tend to head for Port de Pollença and Sóller, although there is plenty available around Palma as well. All these locations are well-situated for reaching the climbing areas, especially now that the motorway to the south of the mountains is open all the way to Alcúdia.

[Colgao (7b) at Les Perxes on Mallorca, 7 kb]Package holidays can offer very good value but care must be taken since accommodation is often allocated on arrival, and there is a possibility of ending up on the east coast a long distance away from the main climbing spots. Hiring a large villa is usually the most attractive option, especially for those in a large group (6 to 10). This normally offers remarkably good value and, although not much use of the swimming pool is likely to be made, it can offer a very comfortable place to sit next to and unwind after a hard day's climbing. There are also plenty of apartments available not linked to package holidays and these represent good value for couples and small groups.

Enhanced Accommodation Listings

Since the publication of the Rockfax guide in December 2006, we have started receiving enquiries from people searching for accommodation in Mallorca since there were no adverts in the actual book. If you want to take advantage of this prime space then get in touch with our advertising manager as soon as possible.

If you doubt the success of this space then check the Costa Blanca page - the majority of those accommodation providers have been in place for around 4 years and have renewed every year because it is so successful.

Information for advertisers

For more possibilities type 'Mallorca accommodation' or 'Majorca accommodation' into Google.

Camping

The only other options are camping or roughing it. There are supposedly two campsites in Mallorca but I have never met anyone who has used them. Roughing it will leave you continually searching for water and also at the mercy of the thieves every time you leave your stuff in the car.

Drive Times

From Pollença - Palma and Gubia 45 mins, S'estret and Valldemossa 1 hour, Cala Magraner 1 hour 30 mins, Tijuana 2 hours.
