Getting Around

[Long Tall Sally (E1) on Burbage North, Eastern Grit., 7 kb]

The easiest way to get to most of the areas covered in this book is by car and the approach descriptions are written assuming you have access to a car. However if you are trying to get to the crags by public transport here is a list of useful contacts which may help.
Buses - There is no single location to go for reliable information about buses, however most of the operators have reasonably efficient web sites.
National sites

Derbyshire South Yorkshire

Trains - There is a regular service from Sheffield and Manchester to Grindleford. A long but pleasant walk leads up the Padley Gorge to Burbage South, Millstone and Lawrencefield. You can also reach Froggatt from here but there are few other crags you can reach using trains.

Cafes

[Sunset Slab (HVS 4b), Froggatt, Eastern Grit., 6 kb]

There are plenty of Tea Shops and cafes but the two favoured by climbers are:

Grindleford Station Cafe - Just off the B6001 through Grindleford. Popular with climbers and walkers. Large portions of food and great entertainment in reading the many and varied polite (!) little notices dotted around the place.

Outside Cafe - Above Outside in the centre of Hathersage. Excellent cafe with good food
