The best traverse is to go up Sharp Edge and down Halls Fell although each ridge can be ascended in their own right. The grade given is for staying close to the crest of each ridge in most cases difficulties can be avoided. USER COMMENTS
The face to the left of Sharp Edge is worth a look. Only Grade I/II but more complex route finding than a I/II gully and I thought it felt quite Alpine.
Agreed. The long gully L of Sharp edge merits I/II when the ice is thin and fragile and it is an interesting expedition, tough when the snow is not solid! |
