Adjacent Routes 8m. The arete is climbed on its left-hand side throughout and is unprotected. The start is the crux. USER COMMENTS
I must be missing something...this felt very necky to me. Certainly if its given 4a it has to be at least HS given the lack of protection.
If you fall off you can jump to the right to land up the hill. Not really that serious.
A much better route (and a bit harder at the start) on the left hand side all the way.
Can't possibly be S 4a. Maybe S 3c or HS 4a, I'd go for HS 3c. You can only jump to the right if you fall off in a controlled way, and unexpected slip would be nasty.
Agree with Simon. S 4a is a daft grade for a route that's all over by the time you can place a runner.
I agree with whoever said you can fall off the right safely all the way up, also the moves aren't that hard, HVD is about right
A point to take into acount for these votes is that Dave F and moomin lord have climbed B7 and are almost certainly very used to controlled jumps. This is quite exciting for a Severe leader.
A nice route, maybe a bit bold for people inexperienced at the grade.
it's really only the start that's awkward, the rest is all jugs 7 nice layaways
Good eliminate left of this route - up centre of slab with no aretes - probably E2 5b |
