12m. A pumpy number up the parallel cracks splitting the smooth wall. Best laybacked rapidly to a jugs and a tricky exit. USER COMMENTS
Hard work and real resting place. Gears good if you're strong enough to place it.
Backed off this before I even got properly started :( The central 'flake' between the 2 thin cracks moves enough for apparently good gear to just pull out - not nice.
If nervous, check the position of the finishing hold over the top before setting off !
I don't think I have ever been so pumped on a route and still gotten up it, despite the 'rest'. There is real moment of truth, bail out or go, after the first couple of layback moves. The topout is exciting!
Hard work but very worthwhile. Safe as houses - didn't detect any movement in the flake. Good psychological test deciding if you've got enough left to go for the top. I hadn't checked here before so I knew nothing about the finishing hold - I think knowing that it's even there would spoil things. Make the most of it and don't check |
