20m. Low in the grade and well protected. The slabby groove up the left-hand edge of the slab gives good climbing to a ledge at its top (possible stance on the right). Step back left to climb either of the steep grooves, the left-hand one is easiest, the right one is harder and is becoming overgrown. Care needed with the exit. USER COMMENTS
Soft touch for the grade. Good first HVS lead.
Its a soft touch HVS if you like that sort of climbing. I found it hard because of the delicate nature of the slab at the start and the polished foot holds. I had more trouble on this route than Erb, but thats my kind of climbing.
With left hand finish felt like VS to me.
The right-hand finish is better, when clean.
My first HVS... would have to say led Great Harry across the road before hand... uummmm not a lot in it. Much as it pains me to say so it's soft HVS with bomber gear, good choice for your first one.
Very confusing having a route with 2 finnishes. In my opinion the left hand finnish that i did would only get VS 5a tops - no idea about the right hand finnish, i didn't even consider it as it was vegetated and unused.
Nice route, but very soft touch for HVS.
Good route, abit green and slippery on the first section which would probably warrant the 5a, good solid gear, make sure you have alot of wires and quickdraws as I almost ran out at the top. |
