I soloed this the other day...and was much surprised by how much i enjoyed it after reading the description. A more fitting and better exit is to continue direct, i think, with care.
Maybe HS, there is no gear but none of the moves are hard, would be even easier if it wasn't so green!
I came across the description of this route purely by chance. I have a dark confession. I am the moronic chipper. In the early sixties, as a schoolboy with a friend (who must confess his sins independently), we used to use various quarries as adventure playgrounds and do some scrambling. The chipped route is one such adventure. Later we became 'proper' non-chipping climbers and I still do a bit on the Avon Gorge where I now live. |
