A good, long route on excellent rock, the easiest hereabouts. The start is polished, after which things are fine. Climb straight up pocketed rock past a bush. Loop right then left to reach a lower-off. The short extension up the groove is worth doing even though it is only a couple of bolts long.
A great first pitch, second pitch relatively poor.
Did this again on 17.3.04. One of the best pitches on the Costa Blanca for us.
Went there on a windy day and it was pretty cold. Bailed out after this route and went to Salinas - sheltered from the wind and that's where all the locals were 'cos it was warmer,
The biggest path on the Costa Blanca!!
The two pitches can be done in one with a 70m rope. Need 13 quick draws. A good route.
Lengths: the second pitch may have a new lower-off because it seems to be no more than 6m. Then, lowering from the pitch 1 belay, my 50m ropes were not quite long enough, even with the stretch, so it must be 27m at least.
The access road described in the guidebook is blocked off now.The only way we found to park off the road is a track opposite the end of the gold and black fence. It goes up and the parking is at the base of an olive grove. By the amount of litter, etc it seems quite public but there is a prohibido sign. We were told to just keep to the pines away from the cultivated area.Be very strict about this or that track may be closed also.
Nice route, quite hard and a bit polished at start then eases.
Why isn't this three stars - its very rare to get such a long consistent non-blocky 5. Compare this to some of the new routes on the left at alcalali - this is streets ahead in quality. Mrs P again thinks this should be a top 50 route.
