14m. Bold climbing on the upper wall. A runner in Embankment 1 is normal, then climb the wall leftwards on flat holds passing an ancient peg runner. USER COMMENTS
I have never climbed this route, my climbing partner is Les Bonnington (FAA) and the line and route description on the rockfax guidebook is not correct.
The original FAA was 1968, the original line started to the right of Great North Road. It climbed onto the bottom of the narrow slab, having ascended half way up the slab it went directly up the wall to the right of Great North Road corner. It passed through a small V groove on the arete before going over the small overhang and the following the arete directly to the top.
Did you give that line a name ?
Just had an e-mail from Les - looks like Blind Bat originally climbed what is now Quality Street.
Old peg is actually OK and can be backed up with a friend 1 ish. Good crimping |
