8m. Climb the smooth face on the right passing the Africa-shaped flake with difficulty. A two-move wonder. USER COMMENTS
This is a nice route, an average small lightweight single stemmed peg scar rock protects the bottom part of the thin crack and a much worse slightly bigger one goes in higher up. Faith in friction to get your right foot up after a long reach to the flake, the jugs aren't as big as they look but will do and the top is excellent. Only 2 5c moves and a ledge to psyche up on but I'd give it a star!
The crux is leaving the ledge, the rest is steady but protection is poor.
Crux is leaving the ledge, but there are no further 5c moves - I made the first hold on the Africa flake and then raced to the top without stopping. Really nice, compact route - easy E2, easy 5c, 2*.
first E grade was quite dissapointed with the beggining but as i am short pulled off a nice dyno to "west coast" on "africa" then topped out with ease thinking the flake was going to drop off any minute
This route should be re-named Africa. Is this a lead or a boulder problem? |
