18m. The left-hand continuous crack system is hard work. Start as for H.P.D. but move right to the crack. Protection is good and the holds keep appearing but the whole thing is fairly uphill. USER COMMENTS
A fine, well protected route
Certainly is well protected. You could put about 8 bombproof runners in the steep half.
Nice to see this has finally come down to E3
Nice technically sustained route. Although steep, it is not that pumpy if relatively fit. Found distinctly less strenuous than Billy Whizz.
Did this and Billy Whizz tonight. Boulevard has 1 move to get established on the headwall followed by big holds to the top. Billy whizz has the hard move at the top after sustained climbing. Billy whizz has definitly got to be the same grade. Both routes are well protected, both routes are 5c and Billy whizz is more sustained.
A very rewarding route with the crux just off the ledge, where I took welcomed rests before atacking the first and hardest move. Jugs at the top if you've enough left to pull on them! 5c yes and E something. Three stars.
Great to get it first go after struggling with Billy Whizz. Agree with Simon Shaw re crux. |
