20m. The long groove at the right-hand side of the pool (rising from the lake) steepens towards the top. It can be greasy after damp weather. The start is probably the technical crux though a couple of layback moves on the upper section feel tough; beware the final blocky moves as the corner keeps getting shorter! USER COMMENTS
This is an intimidating and sustained climb! LEaving the ground is a little awkward but the route is reasonable until the niche. Leaving the niche is probably the most daunting move and form there it is a sprint for the top. But once you get there, you'll feel a massive sense of achievment!! Enjoy!
I'd ignored this route for years, because it looked a bit grim - but it's great! Lovely jug climbing up the crack with some nice laybacking in the central section.
lovely route- spoilt for me by the start. good pro all the way. lots of variation with a beautiful lay-back section. Enjoy!
Id been told this was a stiff VS4c...it was a joy all the way, solid gear and some great moves. Not as hard as great Harry IMHO. A route to do again some time
Start a bit mingign and was wet and quite hard today. The rest is really nice.
I returned to this route 20 years after first doing it and found the start much harder than I remembered. The sprint for the top is exhilirating,
I've avoided this in the past as it was always wet, but Sunday the conditions were perfect. The technical start was not problem but would be tricky when damp. The crux for me was definately that final layback section but I did manage to place gear half way through and finnished without gibbering. |
