9m. Climb leftwards out of the capped corner then pull back onto the slab. Balance up this to the blind finishing crack. The original left-hand finish into English Overhang is HVS 5a. USER COMMENTS
I belayed someone leading this route thinking it was VS 5a as it says in the guide. He had to escape left up the HVS 5a finish as the "VS 5a" finish was too hard.
Looks like the guide is wrong then. I also lead this believing it to be VS 5a. I thought the start was the hard bit and so persisted and exhausted myself attempting to place gear. After many desperate attempts I almost made it onto the slab but then took a spill and narrowly avoided decking out, took the hint and backed off. Looks like I got off lightly. |
