Often overlooked, but excellent.
cool move to top out, especially if you're short!
A one move wonder but still good fun.
The topo in the guide shows the route too far left, up a blank wall. I tried this at the weekend, and just couldn't get established on the angled mantelshelf. I wouldn't mind knowing the grade for this. The proper route is pretty obvious though, just go up for the spike using the flakes.
I'd agree that the line goes a tad to the right of the topo; just follow the holds! Lovely, delicate top moves (I'd guess particularly cos I'm short) so stuff the crack with gear.
Quite a long reach at the top but loads of gear
Hard 4c for me. Found the reach at the top trivial, but I'd done a rather hard mantleshelf to even get within spitting distance of it. Wouldn't have described it as delicate either, I'll have to go back and see if I missed something! But I'm 5'5" I can see that if you're tall. Hadn't actually noticed it was a reachy climb, or I wouldn't have done it, so that's quite satisfying.
... I can see that if you're tall it would be easier. |
