14m. The shallow corner has an unhelpful set of sloping, slippery holds and great gear. The upper half is a doddle. USER COMMENTS
the start is well shiny, the top a ladder, loads of gear all the way.
first outdoor solo, in bare feet, back in 89.
Moving onto the arete near the top helps maintain the grade
I don't think it 4b .. should be 4a .. not bad climb tho
Dull. I don't enjoy having the hard bit at the bottom; falling off just looks stupid instead of exciting.
start is too slippy. fell off second move three times (oh the shame!) after the lightest of summer showers.
Anyone tried the boulder problem up the arete right of this route? It's quite hard, especially with polished footholds. Anyone know the grade?
A bit slippy for a solo... the first few moves being the worst though. I didn't think that this route justified any stars. Yeah, it's quite nice but nothing special. Especially with all the polish.
i think that the boulder problem on the arete is graded at about B5/6. Can't quite remember but i think thats what the guy said when we were there last week,
The arete boulder problem is only B4. But a goodun!
The first 10' of this route are plain blood awkward ! Don't expect to cruise it if its remotely damp.
I liked this one a lot. I found the start bloody hard, but thats the point - isn't it? After the hard start it's a nice relaxed climb but...at the top should you step right around the upper block or continue up on the arete?? Also while I was doing this climb a guy soloed 'downhill racer' - very inspiring, I remember looking across and thinking 'what the hell is he standing on?'
Went up this one yesterday evening after a fine afternoon of climbering. The start is a bit tricky, but very worthwhile. I find these problems a bit peculiar because you top out half way up but still have to do the rest of it.
the start is a bit tricky with the well polished foot and hand holds, once past that it is blessed with a plethora of good holds, big heather bush in the way to add a twist to the finish. |
