Adjacent Routes 8m. Climb the easy wall left of a tree to a ledge. Finish up the short, and tricky crack by a layback move or two. USER COMMENTS
4b my arse
I think the usual 5a tech grade is fair for the one awkward move in the top crack.
the top crack has one perfect jam as you leave the ledge, after that definitely 5a.
Sandbag at 4b. 'Perfect' jamming crack is technical at top. Laybacking usually required.
I agree, more like 5a than 4b. Whoever described the top as a "perfect jamming crack" must have very thin hands! I used poor jams and slopers.
gets vs 5a in old froggatt guide and rightly so
worthwhile. well-protected technical VS 5a.
Top Crack seemed hard for VS, tricky sustained laybacking and awkward positions for placing gear, though plenty of places to put it if you can stop long enough. Tried to get jams in but no chance with my big hands. |
