An ancient classic. Climb the initial awkward and polished groove then continue directly up the chimney. Back and foot technique is best though squirming up the back also works.

Getting off the ground's a nightmare if you're short!

Possibly the best route at the crag.

I'm 4' 11'' and i got off the ground ok I really enjoyed this route and I did a great beached whale top out much to the amusement of my climbing club!

A fine route! How many times can you change the direction you face during your ascent?
dc - 04/Nov/02

Im only 12, and found the start very difficult, but once i got inside the crack i found it very fun, very easy but a very nice last move...
Dominic Dwyer - 03/Sep/03

easy climb the last move is pretty 'orriable though but you can get a Hex in above you before you do it, also did the whale top out as I was leading it for my climbing club, no one saw but i got to laugh at my seccond do the same

Seemed easy for severe, though a very nice route
