27m. An ameanable and diverse route. Start up the large grey ledges and then move up rightwards before gaining a fine slab. Difficult moves to leave the slab over the small overlap are followed by steeper climbing directly past the last bolt, using a good but hidden hold in the blank-looking wall above. USER COMMENTS
This is an excellent climb and the easiest route on the wall (6c max). There is a new direct line called Shipperdy Doo-Dah (7a/7a+, FA Gary Gibson)that continues straight up the wall where The Deep traverses right. The rock on this route is quite poor especially at the top where the crux is!
dirty rock, at least one loose looking / sounding block and an unobvious line gave this much more of an 'adventure' feel than any decent sport line should have. strayed onto the new route to the left mentioned by Lee and thought it even worse. maybe better when clean?
two football size loose blocks just after the crux. about 3-4m below lover off. easy for grade. more like 6c-6b+ |
