40m. An awesome pitch tackling the thin crack and flake line bounding the left side of the Nemesis Wall. Extremely sustained and varied climbing throughout. One of the origonal protection peg is no longer insitu and the pitch is now more strenuous due to the difficulty of arranging alternative nut protection. Pull steeply into the base of the line and follow the crack strenuosly to where it curves and fades and a thin left traverse past a bolt eventaully gains easier ground. The right slanting crack above is still tricky, and the final moves need care as the rock is poor. USER COMMENTS
E5? That's nice (though unlikely!)
Confused by Tyler's comment as I led this on Saturday and E5 6a felt spot on. Thin traverse moves come after some very pumpy climbing - too hard for E4, though bottom end 6a. Very good route - surprised not to see more comments.
There used to be a peg runner that protected the crux and with this in place the route was E4. In it's current state E5 is more appropriate. |
