6a, S0, 80m. A very good circular traverse, and a fun introduction to the area. Start on the beach and head round the west tip of the Stair Hole Promontory. Continue into the West Cave at, or very near sea level, to emerge back on the beach. USER COMMENTS
a nice gentle warm up
This one climbs better if you reverse it, the moves are slightly harder heading out through the cave first ... to the sea and beyond!
How can this be called HVS or as some have voted E1 your never more than 3 metres off the sea. 5b though.
did this climb at high tide... where are the foot holds inside the cave, under the sea i feel??!! a fiendish little number!! a definite recomendation though for a slightly lower tide as a warm up... but beware of getting over pumped when the HVS section creeps upon you unawares!!
This climb is really comfortable till you enter the cave. Once you enter the cave the holds become a little less obvious. Big fun though. |
