A fine modern wall pitch linking some subtle features on the face between Machete Wall and Inkerman Groove. Start up Machete Wall to the small white corner. Traverse left to peg and then up to a horizontal break. Take the shallow right to left trending groove to a peg at its end and make difficult moves onto the edge of Inkerman Groove. Move right (thread) and up to meet the top of a thin crackline on the right. Easier climbing gains the finish of Inkerman Groove. USER COMMENTS
There are two directs on this. Most obvious- go straight from the peg at the top of the groove to the thread. This adds a hard move, removes the rest and probably makes for a better pitch. Secondly, leave the groove at the old, rusty peg and go mostly up and a bit right via a couple of little pockets to meet (and finish up) penny lane at the roof. Have fun. |
