Gaskin's Problem

For some reason Little Women -rh- has been completley missed out of the topo. Originally climbed by myself & repeated by John -V13 it was the hardest in the Lakes for some time {until Johns addition}, & absolute classic on the giant stone - arguably the problem that brought so much attention to Little Font while I was establishing it as a venue...
Worth speaking to Greg or John for adding the info.

Si your problem is mentioned as an aside in the text description for Litlle Women. Which is a shame because for a time it was the hardest problem in the Lakes by far and as such is historically important and deserves a little better treatment.

P.S. I'd have thought that if pressed John might have come up for a name for this, the Lake District's hardest problem and the hardest problem in your guide. Presumably he refused your request?

Yerr lost me abit there Neil.never asked John for anything...? did suggest to Alan James recently that Little Women should carry the front tag of V13, as this would give the problem the recognition I also feel it deserves & have the V11 as an easier option. This was, as i have explained on god knows how many occasions, the original line I had planned to climb in the first place. Alans reply started with 'not sure what you mean' followed by:

'Unfortunatley the guidebook is now at the printers so it is too late
to change this information. We have to keep the database inline with
the printed book so I will leave it as it is for the moment. Looks like Greg Chapman either doubts your ascent, or hasn't updated
his site in a while'

Nice to see research of problem history is paramount over rumours - you have to love objectivity aye.
