10m. Pull through the bulge and pad up the unprotected slab. USER COMMENTS
Surely shorter than 10m, a very good route.
Adequately protected with the appropriate gear (quite specific). Low in the grade; more technical but not as bold as Short Slab.
Surely the easiest E1 on grit - much easier than 3 pebble slab !
Classic example of the flaw in the Rockfax voting system. I think this is VS 4c, but could concede that it's a soft HVS 5a, just. But when asked to vote everyone says "easy E1" 'cause it's much nicer to think "I must have been going rather well" as opposed to "that route is completely misgraded". On a stiff route however, everyone's going to say "this is a rip-off at HVS, I want it to be E1" - especially at these grades - hence grade inflation. In interpretting the votes, I reckon 'add one' i.e. read "easy E1" as "overgraded" and "E2" as "hard E1". The only ones which need regrading will be evident from the comments.
HVS really! I agree with Jon Stewart's comment |
