I don't no how this route is given HVS, I soloed this onsight without any worrys no more than VS 4c, for some strange reason it gets E1 5a in the bmc guide.

Probably VS 4c an easy solo. Not a very good route.

Agree with above, no way HVS - More like HS 4c. Not a bad little one move route though.

Don't lead harder than VS but didn't find this too difficult, certainly easier climbing than Paradise Arete VS 4c ( Stanage ).
Nice climbing, a few commiting moves above good gear.

In it's current state this is now about HS 4b/c - I suspect that the reason it was originally graded HVS 5a (& E1 5a) is that the break at about 4 meters (which now provides solid gear and a great hold) used to be full of earth/plants - the move without it is about 5a and there would have been no gear on-line.
