This is a top 50 route - few better grit VS's
Good route, I didn't enjoy it that much, but it's covered in slime at the minute (after the recent month long rain), so I doubt that helped. The moves are good and the gear is easy to find and place. The top-out is brilliant.
I might be missing something, but I couldn't get any good gear in until over half way where I got two solid slings round some boulders. All I got was a little friend in a hole on the left wall. The crack was much too big for any of my gear.
Big friends required lower down. Good old fashioned VS with some tidy runouts between great gear.
Big friends probably reassuring but certainly not essential, plenty of alternative (and good) gear available outside of the crack in the lower section. Brilliant climbing - up there with the best. |
