16m. The shallow overhanging groove in the left wall of Parsons' Chimney proves to be quite superb. Layback the lower section and bridge the upper, with an exciting finish on huge jugs. An Almscliff rarity, a route that is low in the grade! USER COMMENTS
Ah, It's great to see the re-introduction of the classic good old Yorkshire Sandbag!
Dangerous to put this in at VS as a fall from the top could be nasty. Could be a Scottush E2! I thought it though at HVS 5a in my guide.
Climbed this yesterday, amazing route but quite runout in the top third. I think the previous HVS grade more fitting, VS leader could get into some trouble on this one. A fall from near the top would bring you close to the ground!
The "traditional" grade of HVS 5a seems right for this. Bit hard for a VS 4c, unless we're going back to the YMC guidebooks of 30+ years ago.
Surely HVS.
seemed like bog standard hvs to me, steep but with good gear
Brainfart at the top and you're cashing a few airmiles in. Excellent gear and no way you'll hit the ground but still enough to inspire you to the top. HVS 5a arsetwitcher, 3 stars. |
