16m. The rift in the centre of the face is a classic two pitch battle. The lower squeeze can be avoided by starting up Overhanging Groove - a cop-out - and helmets jam in the final narrow section.
FA. W.Parsons c.1900. Oddly the climb wasn't named because the contortions required are enough to make a parson swear.

No way is this route a VS, unless you also upgrade all the Almscliff VSs to HVS!

Agreed definately HS 4b, 3 stars. Benchmark classic. Stick to the direct start.

Unless this has got harder in the last few years, this is overgraded at VS 4c. HS 4b seems quite alright.
