14m. The jutting axe-edged arete gives a great climb, bold and committing. From the good runners on Noonday Ridge move back right and, heart in mouth, layback and balance up the arete until jugs (or the air) offer some relief. High in the grade. USER COMMENTS
What a route! It feels higher, more exposed and more scary than it realy is..classic!
I don't think the upgrading of such a testpiece is justified. This is one of those routes that defines the E4 grade and nothing about the route has changed. Leave it as E4.
Its a brilliant route and if NOT inspected and is sight led, I think it is worth its upgrade.

I recall that Track of the Cat was described as best of all that is wicked on grit... but not quite in HN's league, forget grades but HN is harder than TOTC, Strapadictomy, similar in some ways to Bat Out of Hell... but then there are loads of nails E4s |
