Way off to the left is a lone route. Start off the left end of the ledge (bolt belay). Climb over a tree to a break. Follow a scoop and the wall above rightwards to a lower off.
FA. Chris Hardy 1992. Reclimbed by Alisdair Hannah in 1998 and named 'Far From the Madding Crowd' after a lot of holds had fallen off.

A pitch with plenty of exposure - since you're off the end of the ledge, you have a lot of space beneath your feet.

I gave this route the name 'Laurels for Hardy' in my script for the BMC peak limestone guide. Chris Hardy hadn't given it a name so i made one up. I have no claim to the route so perhaps it's only fair to let Alistair name it 'Far from the Madding Crowd' as he'd rebolted and reclimbed the route after the loss of holds not me.
