Adjacent Routes << The Grasper < The Neb Direct | The Plum > The Fang >>
One of the most popular routes in North Wales with fine open climbing (and lots of people). Start below a short chimney. Photo on previous page.
1) 10m. Climb easily up the chimney to a tree belay.
2) 25m. Climb left to some sloping ledges, then climb up a wall. Holds on the right lead up before moving back left to a ledge.
3) 4b, 35m. Step right then climb a shallow groove to another groove. Climb this and a crack above to the arete. This leads to the top.
3a) Original Finish - Severe, 35m. Climb the slab behind the tree then step left above a small roof. Climb straight up to a good ledge (possible belay). Move across into a corner then pull out left to some spikes. Continue above up a groove to the top. FA. A.Moulam, J.Barr 1953

My first trad lead! Have seconded a few times since and the top pitch is wonderfully exposed.
