The central section of the main wall at Dyer's Lookout is a truly amazing sheet of impenetrable-looking culm. Its ascent is the latest instalment in a long history of attempts on the line. Start in the centre of the wall.
48m. Climb the initial overlaps to gain the base of the smooth hanging slab. Move up this via a series of very thin, powerful and precarious moves, to good holds and the first reasonable protection at 15m. Continue on spaced thin breaks for 10m until the first and only good gear at a wide slot (Friend 2), climb past the slot to join and follow a hairline crack to the top of the wall passing several more difficult sections of climbing. FA. James Pearson 6.2008. The upper section of the route was originally climbed as Dyer Straits, E8 6b, FA. Ian Vickers 3.8.1998
