The tall arete is photogenic and very good, if rather unbalanced. The last few moves make up the reach-dependent crux. USER COMMENTS
A good route, but unbalanced - up to the (high) crux is about F6b, then the crux is probably worth English 6b (even if you are tall!). Excellent positions on the arete.
Well the crux seems to be missing a small hold, so you have to be about 7 foot tall , I am 6' 2" and I still could not do the move without a struggle to say the least.
Tough crux but I didnt find myself stretching for any holds although I am 6ft1, only proper shorties will struggle to reach the final crimp in the crux sequence before the big break.
Frank went left at the crux. I went right. We both though desperate English 6b and reachy. Maybe someone should put in an intermediate lower-off and call it a nice 7a to there. |
