A fine sustained groove leads to a swing left at the mid-height crux shelf. USER COMMENTS
Nasty move at the crumbly weetabix style break, saw me off.
To climb it at 6b+, move up left then back right on the "weetabix" section. Direct up the groove felt like hard 6c.
Thought the moves were fine, but the placing of two of the bolts was dire. I used a Frog for one of the clips.
Route to right is Kite Marks 6c+
The route to the right - Kite Marks - is nails for 6c+. The climbing is quite good but once you get going there is a fair bit of sustained, tiring, and technical climbing leading to a couple of properly hard moves (one of which is a bit of a reach the way I did it). I would suggest 7a and one star. It would benefit from a bit of traffic, like most newer routes on Portland
Reckon 7a harsh but fair for Kite Marks - got spat off at the reachy move then scared shitless at the reachy roof! Hmmm, must try harder. |
