Fabulous route, why the downgrading? Harder than some 6c+s on Portland.
There's a big block at the top of the pillar (just below the crux move) which is very loose, there's plenty of footholds on the wall behind it, just make sure your belayer isn't directly beneath you if you stand on it!
Vicious fingery 6a move on the crux, but it's just above jugs and right next to gear so it's well worth persevering. Tough for the grade.
An absolute class route. Worth making the 3rd clip and downclimbing to the hands-off rest before committing. There's a very good rest below the top roof.
Upper groove more restful than suggested, decent flake holds, no scary clips. Great varied climbing. |
