Don't believe that 'easy for the grade' bollocks. Its pretty bloody tricky getting those clips in.
These 3 routes are all 7b and 2 stars; not one is easy for the grade and due to the covering of ming none are worth 3 stars.
They can be covered in ming and are then considerably harder; get them on a good day though and they are definitely worth those stars!
amazing! second of the three on this wall, right of 'stay golden' similar in difficulty i feel, but more sustained than the previous and a little steeper! 5 stars! Big moves and big holds in the bottom half getting crimpier as you move into the groove! this is a must do, and fully deserves the stars! agreed with some of the above comments if you catch it too early without any sun, these routes do feel terribly greasy! but do wait and persist! best 7b on portland!
You are right Andy, definitely a contender for best at grade :) Try 'Stone Cold Sober' it feels at least as hard to me!
paul you should also do 'Fun factory' on the back cliff at battleship! very good again! not quite as good as sweet smell, but its definitely up there!! |
