Route Grade Votings

The best boulder traverse on the Isle - more of a journey than a boulder problem. Start from a hand ledge below Zimmerframe... then traverse the break leftwards with hard moves out of Ninth Wave (spotters needed). Then the desperate finish where you eventually body-bridge onto the far ledge. USER COMMENTS
Great problem, really pupmy with no hard moves (nothing much above 6a). Grade is French 8a not V10(more like V8/9).
To Jimbo Kimber- It gets V10 because it's a boulder problem!
To Paul: Pete Oxley the first ascentionist first described the problem with the 8a route grade which was then converted to V10 (I didn't do the conversion before you ask, an historical quirk!), having climbed it myself and other 8as and other V10 problems I feel the route grade fits this very sustained and superb problem better as do others that have climbed it... like I said French not Font 8a
Gotcha ;0) Cheers for the reply matey.
Recent winter storms have created larger foot holds which may affect the grade...
Massive block fallen off this now, as of first week in June |
