Start between the two ground-level bushes. Climb to the left of the bolts all the way to the top and reach right to clip the lower-off.
Much harder for the short as my GF found out 1 move from the LO.
I may be missing something here, but Bonsai shares the LO with Sting in the Tail, right? So the last move before the LO on Bonsai is just as difficult as the one on Sting in the Tail. If you look at the Sting in the Tail comments, they all agree the last move is the most diffcult one. Some argue it's a 6a. I would agree with that. So how can Bonsai be a 3+? Sorry if my comment is daft, I am a relative novice.
I lead this for a beginner to TR on saturday. Although it shares a lower-off with Sting in the tail they don't share any of the same moves as Bonsai starts on the left and takes a diagonal line up from the left to the Lower off and sting in the tail starts on the right taking a right diagonal line upto the lower off...
a lot of people miss climb Sting in the tail, and infact go left of the LO bolts when they should be heading more right/straight up.
to cross to the lower-off is a tricky move - you may start from the left but you need to reach a point where you need to go up - this is where the two routes can meet. i think if you're tall its no prob, but for someone with a shorter reach its a scary move where if you fall you're onto a pendulum movement.
Thought this went as graded - the top move is not as for SITT, you can reach the top and traverse at the grade.
