Route Grade Votings

Adjacent Routes An enjoyable, well-travelled line that features some difficult, but well-protected climbing. Gain the jutting block by moving right beneath it and then its top (The Balcony). Finish up the small corner and the flake above. USER COMMENTS
V.S. if it was not so well protected
Technical grade of 4b should be included, considering some of the S 4a's nearby.
Moves under the balcony are definately 4b, not least for effort. Very enjoyable route though, definately worth its star.
Found it trickier than the given grade, especially above the balcony. Well worth doing.
Also found it hard and backed off at upper/2nd crux, then climbed as a second. Felt about VS 4b/4c to me but I wasn't aquainted to the rock and steepness and it was very greasy/damp when I climbed it so I will refrain from voting on grade.
I too thought this was stiff for the grade, but I have just realised that I finished it up the blank looking wall above and slightly left of the balcony rather than the ledge/corner/flake to the right which looked very easy.
Have climbed easier VS 4c's in the Peak District than this. Very good though.
Nice little route with good gear. There are only a couple of moves around the block which may cause any concern, apart from that it's all plain sailing. |
