25m. A brilliant climb with a very exposed crux but with good gear. Follow an awkward crack to a niche, then swing right on the lip of a monster block. Before strength fades, ascend direct up a technical wall to finish via an easier groove system. A large cam is useful on this pitch. Not in current guidebook.

The new route which crosses the 2metre roof then heads out diagonally right,to the left of crystal voyager is 'Jewel of Africa' 7b. Does anybody know why it has no lower off on it?
There is no lower-off because this would interfere with the established trad-climb( Crystal Voyager).
Alas the inevitable has happened and the large 'traverse -block' is no more!, Apparently the route should still go at E4 ish?
That's sad! Have seen a few people who can't jam struggle along the rail (which I guess is now the lip of a small roof). |
