Start just right of an arete. Climb to a shallow right-facing corner. Climb this easily to a roof then move direct up the impending wall above to the top. The original start has suffered a rockfall and is now much bolder above the low hard section. USER COMMENTS
I thought the bit up the corner detracted from the overall quality. A hard move out of the sentry box and a pumpy finish but also quite tricky moving up and across to the corner (and only micros for these moves). The top peg is fairly good and can be backed up. The other two pegs are mediocre but not essential.
Thought this was E46a, even with the new start. THe rock isn't great and neither is the gear, it's ok, but very fiddly.
On a repeat ascent using the new start (well, up the crack between the original start and the boulder on the right - the line in the Rockfax seems to go up a blank bit of wall to start) I thought the corner was good, swinging about on jugs. Excellent climbing above, tricky but not that pumpy until the top peg. I think E3 5c - must get on Singing Winds.
Surprised you thought this was E4 6a Rich. I didn't find it that hard so, like Matt, I should maybe get on Singing Winds! Also didn't think it deserved 3 stars - like Rich I thought the gear and rock were not that great. Well worth doing though as still very good. |
