The rock at the top is not as snappy as it used to be, thanks to those free-falling pioneers. More satisfying and photogenic than the original finish.
I did The Conger today for the first time in 18 years! I am wondering now whether on that previous occasion in 1986 Crispin Waddy mislead me (deliberately perhaps: hoping for some 'how high is too high' test data) into doing the Snap, Crackle, Pop finish. I remember being scared witless on steep biscuits, definitely different to the normal slab exit I did today. Not really sure enough to claim the FSA though. |
