A popular outing that shed a hold on its crux, but can still be climbed at grade 5 if a move right is made at the third bolt (6a+ if taken direct). Start up the arete, then make a tricky move into the corner which is followed to the top. USER COMMENTS
Nothing wrong with this route, in fact its pretty good and seeing as its the only easy route at Winspit I think its well worth a star.
Nice little climb. The LO look to have moved out a 1/2Inch though?
A good climb and very good as a route to do as your first sport lead.
I agree, an enjoyable climb but one of the LO bolts looks a little suspect.
A hold has been pulled off the crux and it is harder without it
yes sorry, my partner pulled off the hold from the crux, when I was belaying!-one day back in january! is definetly much harder without it, as it was a block about 20 x 10 cm!
This is definintely harder without the missing hold- I think its now more awkward than the 6as nearby?
Since the loss of the hold, it remains F5 if you step left at the third bolt, move up and step back right.
Sorry - step RIGHT at the third bolt.
Seady 5 until the bit with the missing hold.
Went straight up and seemed OK. All easy 5 apart from one move, which I don't think puts it up to 6a+ when going direct. A sort of hard 5 would be more accurate. Going right didn't seem in line with the route. |
