The zigzag cracks give a good little route. Sometimes has bats. USER COMMENTS
there is a bat nesting in one of higher cracks,may need to escape left onto the arete take care. very enjoyable route despite this.
A fair route at this grade with good gear and continuous climbing. Better than the arete so I guess there's two routes worth doing =/.
The bats are deep in the upper crack and can easily be avoided. Plus they don't bite, unlike the ants at the top.
Such a wonderful line on this undistinguished crag. If it were unpolished I'd suggest 3 stars; 1 star is correct in its polished state.
Good route, I'd give it two stars, although perhaps that's because the rest of the routes around are mostly unpleasant. Much better than the arete.
Thought this was a really nice route and towards upper end of VS, though mostly due to the polish. And judging by the smell and squeaking coming from the crack higher up, the bats are still in situ.
Bats still seemed to be there this week too! I enjoyed this although got pumped which I didn't expect. The top out was the scariest bit as the grass was so dry! Didn't find there to be much (any) polish at all after the first couple of moves, I even smeared quite happily (two things I normally avoid - polish and smearing).
Good gear, nice crux and nowhere near the polish of the popular Stoney routes. Appears to be harder for the short. |
