This seems the most popular route at the crag, and its a very pleasant route, not very tricky and with plenty of gear , you can't go wrong!

This route has no runners until established on the ledge at 5m otherwise well protected above. Very soft for a HS.

you can get runners in the first corner, doing the 5a start gives a nice little route aswell

Quite bold start with one real "move" before pro comes to hand. After that a bit of a romp. Would not be an ideal first HS.

Unlike Nettlerash this one really did feel HS 4a due to the poorly protected start.
At the final corner, I followed a thin crack in the slab instead, as someone else had chosen to finish Nettlerash by the left hand route so there was a rope in the way. This made a better finish I think (quite tricky but well protected), more in keeping with the grade (HS 4b overall?)
I then continued up the arete to the top of Broken Toe, as the other party was by then using the ab sling to top-rope off. Makes a nice finish, which I've since found is the true route as per the old 1980 guide. Why the change?

Nice route well protected, worth its HS4a mainly due to a very slippery ending.
