12m. Climb the groove to a ledge then the wall immediately right of the chimney. Beware of an unexpected loose block that lurks a short distance below the top.
Great caution required with the block. It is very unstable and very heavy! Also likely to get climbers looking for a good finish to Long Climb.
If there was a very heavy and unstable block there it must have fallen off. I just found a small block whicb was didn't seem likely to come off.
There are now at least 3 loose blocks. 2 fairly small ones one on top of the other which could easily be dislodged and one bigger one to the right. Easy enough to avoid if you are expecting to find them but could be dangerous if not. They need clearing out when no-one else around.
There's a block just above the big ledge which is the size of a fridge and feels very loose. If you'd rather leave it alone, finishing up the corner to the right is also possible at a similar grade.
At least one big loose block remains, as I found out on Sunday. It appeared to be completely detached and only sat on the ledge. It was too busy to see just how well attached it was, but probably should be removed on a quiet day.
Didn't notice any particular loose blocks. I remembered mention of them on the top wall, and thumped a few things to see which is was, but nothing seemed to move. Continued warily anyway!
