8m. Climb leftwards to the arete from a block on the right (opposite the path to the cliff). A steep little number with good but rather fiddly protection.

Struggled with this- based on the VS grade given in Western Grit.
I think if you're tall you can probably get some nice pro in, but for me, all I had was a brilliant nut, in a poor position.
Kevster, at 6'1" however, managed to get in a more useful offset friend higher, and further left, so much more confidence giving. A struggle to pull.
Certainly harder than all the other VS's I've done at this crag, so perhaps the HVS is warranted.

Just managed to fall off when soloing this and somehow not break anything --- the landing is awful! It certainly felt quite a bit harder than the other circa-VS routes at the crag.

Errrr? in my BMC Kinder guide its HVS 5a, theres is no such thing as a VS 5a is there?

Ain't gonna solo this one again. Terrible landing, not sure what the gear's like, but wouldn't want to be hanging around tryin to place it. Proper VS 5a!
